Bringing Noelle’s Favorite Salad to the Kitchen

SO… What is a Satisfying salad?
The description as seen in the game is as follows: “A vegetable salad. Not just steamed potatoes and fresh vegetables, but also a hard-boiled egg to top it off. Satisfying to both the eyes and the stomach.”
How on Earth or Teyvat did I get from Potatoes to Plums?
Well, that answer is simple enough. I had to make something with plums before they went bad. And honestly, I kept thinking about the last line of the description: “Satisfying to both the eyes and the stomach.” I think I achieved that with my Satisfying Plum Salad.
This is perfect for that summertime heat. The heat where you want or need something sweet. But don’t have enough energy to make it or simply because it is too hot.
Of Course…
So obviously, for those of you who don’t know, Noelle is the first character you pull for in Genshin Impact and in any Gatcha game ever. Plus, she and I have something in common, a similar name. So she is a very important character to me. I love her personality, and her playstyle is also really cool. When I first started playing Genshin back in 2022. I didn’t know much about games like this because the only games I played were The Sims and Stardew Valley. I didn’t know much about other games.
That is, until Isaac (my younger brother) got Sarah (my younger sister) to play Genshin. I watched Sarah play it, and I guess, as they say, the rest is history.
Pulled for the first time and got Noelle. To this day, she is my #1 main character that I use. Do I have more powerful Geo Characters? Yup, I have Navia. But Noelle just reminds me of the early days, and I love it so much.
The best thing about a Satisfying Salad
It can literally be anything that looks good to you. For me, it was a plum fruit salad.
The plums I had were from a food distribution. My family was given a lot of plums, and I don’t like food waste, so I like using what I can from these food banks and distributions.
I also had watermelon and cantaloupe. There is a local farmer who has some of the best cantaloupes in the area. And they are extremely cheaper than the stuff we find in the store.
Stirred it together and it was done.
You can add more things to this fruit salad if you like. Yogurt, to make it a bit more filling.
Perfect topping for Pancakes
Honestly, for the longest time before writing this post originally, I thought about making the characters’ signature dishes. I’m gonna be honest with you. That wouldn’t have been pretty. I am not the best at recreating recipes. There are other creators out there on YouTube who make amazing replicas of Genshin characters' signature dishes. I thought about it and did a little bit of research and found that nobody really talks about the character’s favorite food. Because sometimes it is slightly different from their signature dishes.
For instance, Noelle’s signature dish is Pancakes. While pancakes are not hard to replicate in the slightest, I didn’t want to start this series with an easy recipe just to have more complicated, costly recipes in the future. (Glaring at you, Inazuma and Fontaine, with your fresh fish recipes).

Because my family received a wonderful abundance of fresh plums from a local food distribution, the primary fruit base cost me absolutely nothing. Combining those with incredibly affordable melons from our local farmer’s market brings my entire total for this large, refreshing summer bowl down to just $0.92.

If you do not have food distribution fruit on hand and buy your plums directly from the store, a small half-pound batch of medium plums adds about $1.37. Buying all of your melons at retail store prices shifts the cost of the cantaloupe to $0.76 and the watermelon to $0.64. This brings the full retail store total for a fresh, identical bowl to $2.77.
